Those are my top 2 priorities. (1) Health is wealth. (2) Bitcoin

This post touched me deeply. Like you Jordi, my friend diagnosed me as Stoic, even though I didn’t know that, until I researched the topic.

On The Art of Balance: Bitcoin and Health, I was doing everything right. Accumulating Satoshi’s into Bitcoins, daily physical training, to keep my body in shape, which is increasingly difficult at our age. And boom(!) I got diagnosed with a rare form of cancer. I am going through the treatment at one of the best clinics in the world, and I am told it’s not terminal, but it will affect my mobility and lifestyle.

So, thanks for sharing your thoughts, I fully agree with the approach, and take care of your loved ones, while you are well grounded and fighting-fit.

Marcus Aurelius would have been a bitcoiner.

I, too, read the Daily Stoic - release what we cannot control and focus on what we can. And focus on gratitide.

This article really speaks to me, Jordi. Thank you.

Islam however, is a religion of subjugation and dominance …possibly Zen for those that are imposing/dominating and subjugating, but certainly not for the kafir or the infidels or unbelievers of Islam!

Hi Jordi, my family summered in region Kennebunk since the 1940s, coming down from Montreal. We had a few houses over the generations, including one right off Mother’s Beach, and went to the KBIA to learn to swim, sail, etc. My grandfather, a former President of the American College of Surgeons, even play bridge with Pres HW Bush. Loved my time there. This summer, like many Canadians, we decided to stop going as a result of the President’s attacks on Canada and contravention of the USMCA. I suspect you are going to notice a difference. Best wishes

I'm grateful to have come across your article this morning. This sits right with me:

"Bitcoin has become a new source of hope. Not just financial hope, but existential hope—a belief that there is still a system worth participating in. Bitcoin offers a parallel track to those disillusioned with the slow grind and gatekeeping of traditional institutions. It says: you don’t have to wait for permission or promotion." As a builder and as an entrepreneur - I've subscribed to Long-Now principles - do now what will eventually serve long. I'm starting with stable housing for the missing middle and I'm doing it with Bitcoin. Thank you for sharing this, Jordi. #Energy

Jordi, just heard you on Pomp's podcast by happenstance a few weeks ago, and have really enjoyed your videos and substack posts. This post along with "Combinatorial Creativity and the Birth of Belief" from 5/1 distilled perfectly what I feel in the present. Just wanted to say thanks and keep up all the great work!

This essay brilliantly reflects how understanding Bitcoin involves a series of revelations about the nature of money and how systems can dominate individual sovereignty.

As Americans, we often take our economic and political structures for granted because they've served us relatively well for 250 years. This makes it tempting to dismiss the time investment needed to truly understand Bitcoin and its implications.

However, like all human-created systems, our financial frameworks contain hidden flaws that disproportionately benefit certain groups. The fiat money system has become entrenched through powerful forces of inertia and self-reinforcement mechanisms like the Cantillon effect (where those closest to money creation benefit first), pushing these imbalances to extremes.

What makes Bitcoin revolutionary is how it restores financial sovereignty - returning control to individuals who have been marginalized by traditional systems. This sovereignty gives the previously powerless direct authority over their financial lives without requiring permission from intermediaries. Importantly, this benefit extends to everyone - even those who may feel unaffected by or currently benefit from the existing system - by providing a universal option for financial self-determination that transcends the vulnerabilities inherent in centralized structures.

Being grounded is feeling everything and nothing at the same time. When you open the door beware of the metal doorknob , next step you feel your toes in your shoes, etc… this is easier when I’m at my farm then at an airport. That’s why I love living remote in a forest. When we’re grounded animals react to that and you find many amazing creatures that need our help.

I find so many of the best and brightest to have derived their philosophy from what was very likely was biblical truths. Psalms 29:11 he’s one of many verses in this regard The Lord will give [unyielding and impenetrable] strength to His people; the Lord will bless His people with peace. to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know the difference.
