Unfortunately, I agree with everything you said. I'm probably more pessimistic than you, however. I think it's going to be a very turbulent coming decade or two. A lot of "chickens running around with their heads cut off." In the meantime, buy Bitcoin and train to be a plumber, like Geoffrey Hinton said in a recent interview I watched.

In Jeff Booth's book, we will have to rethink the social structure of society in this coming age of abundance, yet I don't see any leaders speaking on this topic, only heads of tech like Elon talking about a High Basic Income. What will it take to start planning for this time that is coming? The Tech heads point to more AI use, yet I see more revolt around us every day, and it will get worse when more of the haves become the have-nots. Jugging is a new term now; the crime of being followed from your banks and robbed at gunpoint is spreading. Society is already revolting due to the widening of inequality, and as more people are thrown to the curb so companies can widen their margins with AI, it will get worse. I hate the idea of a socialist economy; it's proven not to work, so what will this new social structure be? We need more Henry Fords now more than ever, as he was smart enough to realize he had to take care of his people, as they are the buyers of his products. Does everyone in their countries become a shareholder by default, so everyone shares in it, although not equally? Will the sharing economy finally become a reality due to AI and robotics?

Your comment on academics trained to analyze history made me think about how the world might look in a time of abundant resources that this AI revolution might bring. Obviously, these people aren't likely to accurately predict 5 years in the future by referencing the past this go around so, how would abundant resources be allocated without the doom loop of government trying to enforce and imprison equity on us ? If AI is used - could we see cryptocurrency as the means for value exchange each time a task is completed by a robot or a complex analysis is run through a specialized neural processor? Could DePIN over the blockchain be used to assign values and track how much of what was done when so the AI knows how much value to exchange when the agreed upon task is complete? Without using history as my guide- the prospect five years from now is filled with both anxiety and excitement. Thanks for the article Jordi- its the first one of what I'm sure will be many more I read!

Great article as always. Very sobering. Just asked Grok how to deal with potential anarchic societies going into the next five years. It says we balance centralised reforms (tax and regs) with decentralised gov's. UBI trials. City-led economic councils. More collabs between bis, comminuties and gov's. Yet I can't help but read your last paragraph again! We are vastly under prepared.

Whoever loses their job due to AI in the west should move to Africa e.al to help them catch up with the west, there will always be a job for someone somewhere.

Thanks.
